Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday highlighted the “special role” of the diaspora in overcoming the existing challenges and strengthening the “positive image” outside the country in a meeting with the heads of Georgian diaspora organisations in Greece and winners of the diaspora initiative projects.
As part of his official visit to Greece, Darchiashvili briefed the representatives of the diaspora on Georgia’s foreign policy priorities and main development directions of the country, the Foreign Ministry said.
Darchiashvili stressed the Georgian Government was actively working to strengthen the diaspora and ensure their involvement in the development of the country. He heard the needs of the Georgian diaspora in Greece and expressed readiness to be in constant communication with them to resolve the problems.
