Georgian PM featuring in Munich Security Conference opening

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday joined world leaders in the opening session of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Government Administration said.

Garibashvili will hold "high-level” bilateral meetings in the 59th edition of the event that will run between Friday and Sunday, while also being involved in a panel discussion.

The Conference was launched by Christoph Heusgen, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressing the audience.

The Conference is bringing together about 40 government officials and hundreds of policymakers and security experts from 100 countries. 

The Georgian delegation also includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Defence Juansher Burchuladze and Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Government Administration.
