The Georgian national rugby team defeated Germany in the season's first 2023 Rugby Europe Championship match on Sunday at the Avchala Rugby Stadium in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi.

The Lelos, coached by Levan Maisashvili, claimed the victory with the final score of 75:12, following eleven tries by Otar Lashkhi, Konstantine Mikautadze, and Tornike Jalagonia, as well as Mikheil Alania and Luka Matkava, including hat-tricks by Akaki Tabutsadze and Giorgi Tsutskiridze. Matkava also contributed with ten accurate conversion kicks.
