Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday discussed the country’s progress on its Euro-Atlantic integration path and ways to further improve communication with Georgian communities abroad in a meeting with members of the country’s diaspora in Italy.
The meeting, hosted as part of the Minister’s official visit, reviewed initiatives and innovations introduced by the country’s foreign office to facilitate better communication, the Ministry said.
He also commended the diaspora for efforts to promote Georgian culture in Italy, and highlighted the importance of Sunday schools in preserving the national identity of children abroad.
The meeting also discussed challenges faced by the community, with the sides noting the importance of regular meetings between Georgian officials and diaspora groups abroad.
