Two suspects have been arrested and charged with a shooting incident that left two people dead and one injured in north-western Georgia’s Svaneti region on Sunday.
The Interior Ministry on Tuesday said the individuals had been arrested following the incident in Mestia municipality, which local media reported to have followed a dispute between those involved.
One of the two suspects involved in the shooting - which took place in the village of Etseri during New Year’s Eve celebrations - has a criminal record, the Ministry also confirmed.
Charged with premeditated murder, the two face 10 to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
