Georgia's foreign policy course is “firmly defined”,  Archil Talakvadze, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, said on Tuesday in response to a question about potential military neutrality of the country.

Talakvadze said Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine posed challenges to “all countries” in rethinking their “security circumstances”.

"If Western and international partners develop additional security guarantees for Ukraine in the future to ensure Ukraine's peaceful development and security, of course, such additional security guarantees will be needed for Georgia”, the Parliament Vice Speaker said.

Talakvadze added Georgia was ready to discuss “additional steps” that could be taken with international partners to ensure the country received “more long-term security guarantees”.
