Statements related to possibilities of Georgia adopting military neutrality are “nothing but grist to the mill of the enemy”, Georgian Minister of Culture Thea Tsulukiani said on Tuesday in response to comments around the subject.

Tsulukiani said Georgia had made a “European choice” with its Euro-Atlantic aspirations and was pursuing a policy “necessary to advance along this path”.

This is a historic choice made by our nation, a European choice. Of course, we stand on this platform firmly and simultaneously pursue the policy that is necessary to move forward along this path in order to ensure peace in this country,” she noted.

Earlier today Gia Volski, the ruling party MP and Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, said Georgia would not start “talking about military neutrality” in the wake of the war in Ukraine, as “a lot of energy and human life has been invested” in strengthening the country’s NATO membership path.
