Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, has accused the United National Movement opposition party of waging a “hybrid war” against the country through “anti-state actions”.

"Based on the treacherous and anti-state actions of the war party [UNM], we decided not to consider any of its initiatives. It's unthinkable to discuss the issues initiated by the people waging a hybrid, information war against their own country,” Mdinaradze said on Tuesday.

The ruling party member said GD had decided “not to consider any initiatives” of the UNM in relation to the country’s foreign policy, claiming Georgia was “the only country in the world” where a “significant part of the opposition is waging a hybrid war in its own country” on the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Mdinaradze also accused the UNM of attempting to “drag Georgia into the war” and “cause extreme, irreparable damage” to the country's image.
