Traffic movement has been restricted on Metekhi Bridge and its surrounding streets in the Georgian capital Tbilisi to accommodate the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations, the City Hall announced on Wednesday.
The restriction will apply to vehicles heading both from Gorgasali Street to the Bridge and Metekhi ascent, and from the ascent to Europe Square.
On the right bank of River Mtkvari, drivers will be able to cross from Gorgasali Street to Gorgasali Square and Kote Abkhazi Street, and from Tumaniani Street to Gorgasali Street.
Drivers heading from the tunnel on the left bank will be permitted to move through Metekhi Bridge and Gorgasali Square, as well as through Wine Hill.
Municipal buses heading from Girgasali Street to Kote Abkhazi Street will be allowed from Freedom Square, instead of Metekhi Bridge, based on their schedule.
