Traffic to be temporarily restricted on Rustaveli Avenue to install New Year’s illuminations

Vehicle traffic movement in Tbilisi will be restricted due to the installation of New Year’s decorations and illuminations starting at midnight on Sunday till Monday 06:00 AM from the First Republic Square to Freedom Square on Rustaveli Avenue, the Tbilisi City Hall announced on Sunday. 

Movement of vehicles will be possible using Leonidze, Ingorokva, Aleksandre Chavchavadze and Griboedovi Streets, as well as Baratashvili and Tabukashvili Streets. Vehicles heading from Melikishvili Street to the rest of Mtatsminda Streets will be diverted to Janashia, Tarkhnishvili, Tatishvili, Chovelidze and Zandukeli Streets, and then to Barnovi, Gogebashvili and Dzmebi Kakabadzeebi Streets.

Drivers heading in the direction of Melikishvili Street and the area adjacent to the Rustaveli metro station will be able to move via Griboedovi, Makashvili, Barnovi and Shanidze Streets. Traffic movement on Freedom Square will be only restricted toward Rustaveli Avenue.

Vehicles heading in the direction of Freedom Square from the Rustaveli metro station’s adjacent area will be redirected to Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of Mtkvari.
