The Christmas village in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi will open on December 23 at the recently renovated Orbeliani Square with a variety of holiday season decorations, shows for children, fairytale characters and more.
Mayor Kakha Kaladze revealed on Wednesday the central location would host visitors to a programme involving music performances and “various activities”, while the recreational areas of Dedaena Garden, April 9 Garden and Dry Bridge would also receive festive mood with holiday season decorations.

In addition, the river bank Europe Square will host a grand concert on New Year’s Eve.
Santa Claus is on his way and will be in Tbilisi on December 23. I would like to invite parents to bring their children and grandchildren to April 9 Garden, where Santa’s house will be located”, Kaladze said.
The capital’s New Year’s Eve festive lighting and the main Christmas tree on Rustaveli Avenue were lit up last week in an event marking the run-up to the festive season.
