Germany supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, strengthens Georgian democracy, and has provided more than €1 billion in aid to the country in recent years, Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a joint press conference with Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Garibashvili said Georgia has been interested in “further strengthening” bilateral relations with Germany, a “very important” country, that has provided “a lot of assistance” to Georgia in the last 30 years, the government administration said.
The PM also “confirmed” that Georgia has been a “reliable” partner of Germany, which has been contributing to the establishment of European values and ensuring security and stability. He thanked Scholz for the “warm hospitality” and invited him to Georgia.
