Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday congratulated his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock and citizens of the country on the occasion of the German Unity Day.
In his congratulatory remarks, Darchiashvili highlighted the friendship between the two countries and said he hoped for “continued cooperation” in the coming years.

The date is a national holiday celebrated on October 3 to commemorate German reunification in 1990, when the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic were unified, marking the existence of a single German state for the first time since 1945.
Germany supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, strengthens Georgian democracy, and has provided more than €1 billion in aid to the country in recent years, Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a joint press conference with Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said the visit of the country’s prime minister to Berlin this week was “very timely and important” and would contribute to the “further strengthening” of relations between the two states.
Georgian and German foreign ministers on Tuesday signed a “comprehensive deal” on cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science, with the agreement also offering opportunities to strengthen people-to-people contacts, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Germany is a country that “actively supports” Georgia's European integration and its aspiration to receive the European Union membership candidate status as soon as possible, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said on Tuesday after a meeting with his German counterpart in Berlin.
Peter Fischer, the ambassador of Germany to Georgia, on Monday said his government would work “very closely” with Georgia on the country’s European integration.
Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday congratulated Germany on the country’s Unity Day celebrations, saying ties between the two countries were at an “all-time-high”.
Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday said the efforts of the foreign office were aimed at increasing the country's economic opportunities through economic diplomacy, and highlighted the work for integration into the European Union single market and development of startups in Georgia with the United States as particularly important.
