Georgian team claims 5 medals, 2 gold at Bucharest Greco-Roman wrestling tournament

Georgia’s national Greco-Roman wrestling team has claimed five medals, including two gold, at the Ion Cornianu & Ladislau Simon international tournament in Bucharest.

The team’s haul included medals by Giorgi Melia and Joni Khetsuriani, who earned gold medals in 97 and 67 kg sections.

Khetsuriani defeated Georgian wrestler Ramaz Zoidze in the final, with Zoidze earning a silver medal.

Iuri Lomidze (77 kg) and Guram Khetsuriani (87 kg) claimed bronze medals in their respective weight categories.

The international tournament launched on Friday and closes on Sunday.
