The cooperation between Austria and Georgia in both bilateral and international formats, the war in Ukraine and Georgia’s European agenda were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg.
Darchiashvili noted Austria’s assistance and “significant contribution” to the successful implementation of Georgia's European integration process, both in practical terms “through various projects”, and in the political dimension.

The top Austrian diplomat reaffirmed his support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and inquired about the situation in the Russian-occupied regions of the country.
The officials also discussed a “difficult security environment” created on the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
