European and Euro-Atlantic integration process, bilateral relations and security matters were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Macedonian counterpart Bujar Osmani.
The two ministers noted the dynamics of relations between the two countries, and high-level meetings and visits that have contributed to the deepening of cooperation in various fields, the Georgian foreign office said.
The officials also exchanged information on the countries' European and Euro-Atlantic integration process, and reaffirmed their willingness to share experiences in this area and to have further close coordination.
The Foreign Minister of Northern Macedonia reiterated his “strong support” for Georgia's accession to NATO and the European Union.
The meeting also focused on the importance of North Macedonia’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, scheduled for 2023, noting the issue of the occupation of Georgian territories by Russia would be a “priority” on its agenda.
The ministers also discussed “promising areas” of cooperation, including trade, economy and people-to-people relations, and agreed to conduct bilateral visits and facilitate an intensification of sectoral contacts.
