Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has begun his official visit to Glasgow to attend the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 26), which kicked off on October 31 and is scheduled to end on November 12.
Garibashvili emphasised in a tweet the importance of the world’s united commitment for the development of more resilient societies.

Garibashvili will deliver a statement at the World Leaders Summit today.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani also participates in the conference along with PM Garibashvili.

Overall more than 100 world leaders will deliver ‘concrete actions and credible plans aimed at achieving successful COP goals and coordinated action to tackle climate change’ at the summit on November 1-2 in Glasgow.
The UN Convention on Climate Change was adopted in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The agreement came into effect in 1994 with the approval of 196 countries.
