Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said earlier today that Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa, whose country holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union, supports Georgia’s EU aspirations.
Zalkaliani, who met Jansa with Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili, said the Slovenian PM gives a ‘very positive’ assessment to the reforms carried out by Georgia.
Slovenia currently chairs the EU and it will be the chair at the Eastern Partnership (EaP) summit, so naturally we spoke of the expectations we have from the EaP summit”, FM Zalkaliani said.
Georgian PM Garibashvili has held an official meeting with Slovenian PM Jansa, on the sidelines of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference, where two counterparts have discussed the 'friendly relations' between the countries, emphasising the progress made by Georgia on the path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Zalkaliani also noted that during the meeting Georgia’s role ‘a leader’ among other EaP member states has been underscored, therefore the need for differentiated approach to different countries has also been mentioned.
Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, which have established an associated trio, deserve more and our attempts for fast integration with the EU require countermeasures from the European partners”, Zalkaliani stated.
FM Zalkaliani has tweeted:
