20% of Georgian population fully vaccinated

A total of 20.2% of Georgian population has been fully vaccinated, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced earlier today.
Based on the data shared by the NCDC the number of fully vaccinated individuals in Georgia stands at 577,162, while 889,903 individuals have received at least one shot of the vaccine.
Registration for vaccination is available via the booking.moh.gov.ge website as well as a hotline 1522 and 144-3.
Those eligible for vaccination can choose among Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines.
Georgia has reported 2,533 new cases of Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting a total of 34,383 tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the 2,533 new cases 924 were reported in Tbilisi.
Georgian health officials have warned the public that the next wave of Covid-19 will be ‘critically dangerous’ for unvaccinated individuals above 60.
Children over 12 year of age with chronic diseases will soon be able to receive Covid-19 vaccines in Georgia, pediatrician and National Immunisation Board member Temur Mikeladze has stated today.
Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia stated that the current coronavirus mortality rate in Georgia is the result of an increased number of coronavirus daily cases and not the incorrect treatment of patients. Georgia has reported 86 deaths in the last 24 hours which is the highest daily coronavirus mortality rate recorded. A total of 7,649 people have died in Georgia since the beginning of the pandemic out of which 1,631 individuals died in August.
Georgia has reported 1,838 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 23,605 tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the new cases 675 were reported in Tbilisi. Meanwhile, 5,289 individuals have recovered and 39 patients have died.
Georgia has reported 946 new cases of coronavirus, 4,351 recoveries and 48 deaths in the past 24 hours. 27,595 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 17,192 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 9,442 of the 17,192 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,750 were PCR tests.
Georgia has released the application Covid Pass which allows people to get information about their Covid-19 status online. The Coordination Council decided to allow individuals who recovered from coronavirus in the last six months to attend public events without having a vaccination certificate or a negative test result.
The rate of fully-vaccinated teachers stands at 36 per cent in Georgia, Head of the National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze said today.
Georgia has reported 3,221 new cases of coronavirus, 2,990 recoveries and 54 deaths in the past 24 hours. 27,772 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.37,717 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 24,507 of the 37,717 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,210 were PCR tests. The country has had 585,036 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
