Coronavirus in Georgia: 2,533 new cases, 1,762 recoveries, 57 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,533 new cases of Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting a total of 34,383 tests over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 2,533 new cases 924 were reported in Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:
- Imereti – 422
- Kakheti - 244
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 243
- Adjara – 177
- Kvemo Kartli – 168
- Shida Kartli – 150
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 77
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 56
- Guria - 54
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 19
Meanwhile, 1,762 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and 57 infected patients have died. 34,538 people remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
Overall Georgia has confirmed 579,031 cases of Covid-19 since last February when the first case was reported. %38,321 people have recovered since then and 8,146 others have died.
Georgia has reported 2,262 new cases of coronavirus, 2,795 recoveries and 54 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 34,225 tests have been conducted around the country of which 19,047 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 15,178 were PCR tests. 6.61% of tested individuals had Covid-19 as of September 8. Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 575,210 cases of coronavirus, 534,559 recoveries and 8,089 deaths.

Children over 12 year of age with chronic diseases will soon be able to receive Covid-19 vaccines in Georgia, pediatrician and National Immunisation Board member Temur Mikeladze has stated today.
First grade students will start their first school year on October 4 in all cities and villages of Georgia where the Covid-19 infection rate is below 4%, announces the Ministry of Education of Georgia. "This decision applies only to public schools and is based on the pedagogical opinion that the first school experience of first graders should be conducted in a classroom environment, surrounded by classmates and teachers", reports the ministry.
A total of 20.2% of Georgian population has been fully vaccinated, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced earlier today. Based on the data shared by the NCDC the number of fully vaccinated individuals in Georgia stands at 577,162.
Georgia has reported 946 new cases of coronavirus, 4,351 recoveries and 48 deaths in the past 24 hours. 27,595 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 17,192 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 9,442 of the 17,192 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,750 were PCR tests.
