Georgian law enforcers have detained seven individuals for making and selling fake Covid-19 vaccine documents today, reports the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS).
Police found that four out of the seven detainees made and sold fake Pfizer immunisation documents for €350, while three others sold fake Sinopharm vaccination documents for 400 GEL (about $128).
The crime is punishable by three to six years in prison.
From April 15, despite Covid vaccine passports, all Indian visitors entering Georgia will be required to present PCR test results from the proceeding 72 hours. After entering Georgia, individuals coming from India (regardless of their citizenship) will have to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine, which should be financed by their own budget.

In the past 24 hours the country reported 3,212 new cases of coronavirus and 5,017 recoveries. In total, 40,435 tests have been conducted around the country of which 24,334 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,101 were PCR tests.
Georgia has reported 3,034 new cases of coronavirus, 3,952 recoveries and 86 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health of Georgia has developed an application to read QR codes containing information about an individual’s PCR test results of the past 72 hours, whether an individual has recovered from Covid-19 in the past six months and how many doses of the Covid-19 vaccine a citizen has received.
