The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested two individuals for producing and selling fake Covid-19 vaccination documents, the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday.

The Investigation Service said one out of the arrested individuals was a medical professional.

The investigation shows the doctor and their accomplice had made and sold fake Pfizer jab papers for 150 GEL (about €44/$48) before illegally registering the documents on the official website of the National Centre for Disease Control.

The crime is punishable by four to six years in prison.
