Georgia reports 3,886 new cases of coronavirus, 4,103 recoveries, 74 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,886 new cases of coronavirus, 4,103 recoveries and 74 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, 52,162 tests have been conducted around the country of which 30,129 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 22,033 were PCR tests.
The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,509 cases
- Imereti - 487 cases
- Adjara - 445 cases
- Kakheti - 369 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 280 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 279 cases
- Shida Kartli - 223 cases
- Guria - 97 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 86 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 84 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 27 cases
Currently 48,672 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which:
- 38,825 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 7,393 patients - in hospitals
- 2,454 patients - in the clinical-hotels
In addition, 1,560 patients are in critical condition of which 379 are on artificial ventilation.
As of today 44,596 individuals are in self-isolation and 111 individuals are under quarantine.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 553,697 cases of coronavirus, 497,517 recoveries and 7,482 deaths.
Georgian law enforcers have detained seven individuals for making and selling fake Covid-19 vaccine documents today, reports the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS).
Forty-six per cent of teachers have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in Georgia as of August 31, the Ministry of Education and Science told Interpressnews agency today. Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze said on August 27 that if 80% of Georgian teachers are not fully-vaccinated, the Interagency Coordination Council will not recommend opening schools.
Public transport in all big cities of Georgia, which was scheduled to resume on September 4, will not work until September 13, while in-person studies have been postponed until October 4 in the country to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Inter-city transport will continue to operate. Between September 15 and October 4 at least all public schools, universities and vocational education facilities around the country will offer online lessons, while kindergartners, both public and private, will be closed.
Georgia has reported 4,247 new cases of coronavirus, 3,053 recoveries and 74 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 45,100 tests have been conducted around the country of which 26,737 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,363 were PCR tests. The National Center for Disease Control reports that as of August 28, a total of 1,122,209 vaccinations have been administered in the country.
Georgia has reported 81 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours which is a record high figure since the country confirmed its first case of Covid-19 at the end of February 2020. In the past 24 hours the country reported 3,212 new cases of coronavirus and 5,017 recoveries. In total, 40,435 tests have been conducted around the country of which 24,334 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,101 were PCR tests.
Georgia has reported 3,034 new cases of coronavirus, 3,952 recoveries and 86 deaths in the past 24 hours.
