Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has thanked his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó for his contribution in ensuring the safe transportation of Chinese vaccines to Georgia.

I’m very grateful to you, dear Péter, for your contribution to ensure the safe transportation of Covid-19 vaccines to Georgia”, FM Zalkaliani wrote in response to Szijjártó on Facebook.

These efforts are highly valued and appreciated! Your support is very important for our country”, he added.

Péter Szijjártó shared a video on Facebook late yesterday showing how the plane with 400,000 doses for Hungary and 200,000 doses for Georgia were preparing for the takeoff in Beijing.

Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced earlier today that Georgia will receive 100,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine today, which is the gift from the Chinese government.

Earlier the country received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine. However, Georgia will start Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccination after they receive authorisation from the World Health Organisation.
