Coronavirus: 1,147 new cases, 690 recoveries, 20 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,147 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 20,129 tests over the last 24 hours.

Out of the new cases 653 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

Other cases were reported in:

Adjara - 144
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 102
Imereti - 83
Kvemo Kartli - 41
Shida Kartli - 36
Kakheti - 35
Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 25
Guria -22
Samtskhe-Javakheti - 6

Meanwhile, 690 individuals have recovered and 20 infected patients have died.

As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia stands at 311,457, including 291,457 recoveries, 4,130 deaths and 15,844 active cases.

Georgia reports 1,476 new cases of coronavirus of 27,895 tests

Georgia has reported 1,476 new cases of coronavirus, 791 recoveries and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total 27,895 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend of which 11,090 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,805 were PCR tests.

Georgian FM grateful to Hungarian counterpart for support in Chinese vaccine transport

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has thanked his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó for his contribution in ensuring the safe transportation of Chinese vaccines to Georgia. "I’m very grateful to you, dear Péter, for your contribution to ensure the safe transportation of Covid-19 vaccines to Georgia”, FM Zalkaliani wrote in response to Szijjártó in Facebook.

100,000 doses of China's Sinovac vaccine to arrive in Georgia today

Georgia will receive 100,000 doses of China's Sinovac vaccine today, announces Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia. She said that the use of Sinovac will start after it receives authorisation from the World Health Organisation, however, if this process is delayed, Georgian health officials will discuss how the vaccine might be used in the country.

Georgia expecting 1 mln doses of Pfizer vaccine in summer

Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has stated that Georgia is expecting to receive one million doses of Pfizer vaccine in summer. Minister Tikaradze who addressed the parliament earlier today also told MPs that negotiations are also underway for Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines.

Georgia has reported 988 new cases of coronavirus after conducting a total of 13,752 tests over the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 1,595 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and 21 infected individuals have died.

Georgia has reported 509 new cases of coronavirus, 1,200 recoveries and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. 7,476 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 3,111 of the 7,476 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 4,365 were PCR tests. The country has had 312,954 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. five per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
