One out of 125 coronavirus-infected individuals die in Georgia, said Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) Paata Imnadze.
He stated the country is looking after its sick, but after the economy as well, which is why Georgia does not have strict restrictions so far like limiting movement in the country and others.
He urged people to wear face masks and maintain social distance but noted no country’s health system can withstand a flood of sick patients.
Imnadze noted that Georgia is in the middle of European countries by the amount of coronavirus tests conducted per one million people (238,369 tests per one million based on Worldometers).
Georgia has reported 2,775 new cases of coronavirus, 3,560 recoveries and 22 deaths in the past 24 hours.
14,525 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
Georgia has had 51,993 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Since then 37,019 individuals have recovered, while 423 others have died.
4,618 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 619 of the 4,618 patients are in critical condition. 268 of the 619 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
