Georgia reports 2,901 new coronavirus cases, 2,799 recoveries, 34 deaths

A total of 2,901 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, including 1,060 cases in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. 

The rest of the cases were reported in:

  • Adjara - 461
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 369
  • Imereti - 340
  • Shida Kartli - 199
  • Kvemo Kartli - 181
  • Kakheti - 94
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 78
  • Guria - 68
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 45
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 6

Meanwhile, 2,799 people have recovered from the virus, while 34 others have died.

As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of 57,753 cases of COVID-19, including 42,572 recoveries and 475 deaths; 14,680 people remain infected. 

Starting November 9, a curfew will go into effect in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Gori and Poti between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. amid an uptick in coronavirus cases.

As opposition has announced to rally in Tbilisi today, the United States Embassy and the European Union delegation to Georgia have called on all Georgians who plan to exercise their right to assembly ‘to do so peacefully and with respect to COVID-19 precautions’.
