Chairman of Kutaisi District Election Commission Avtandil Osepaishvili has died of coronavirus, says the CEC in a statement.
Osepaishvili was Chairman of the Kutaisi District Election Commission since 2006.
Avtandil Osepaishvili's professionalism and attitude towards work was exemplary for his colleagues,” says the CEC.
Osepaishvili was brought to the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital on October 26. Due to his severe health condition, he was treated in the resuscitation unit.
The Central Election Commission extends its condolences to Avtandil Osepaishvili's family, colleagues and relatives.

Since then 47,390 individuals have recovered, while 521 others have died. 4,709 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 656 of the 4,709 patients are in critical condition. 265 of the 656 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Georgia has reported 2,927 new cases of coronavirus, 2,480 recoveries and 24 deaths in the past 24 hours.
A total of 2,901 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, including 1,060 cases in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. Meanwhile, 2,799 people have recovered from the virus, while 34 others have died.
Starting November 9, a curfew will go into effect in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Gori and Poti between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. amid an uptick in coronavirus cases. Vice Prime Minister Maia Tskitishvili announced at a news briefing earlier today that the interagency coordination council has made a decision based on the epidemiological situation in the country and the increased cases of infection.
A new study by the University of Lausanne for the Council of Europe says that during the first nine months of 2020 there were no Covid-19 cases detected among inmates and staff in Georgian prisons.
