Georgia has reported 478 new cases of coronavirus, 211 recoveries and six deaths in the past 24 hours.
The majority of the cases were recorded in the country’s coastal Adjara region and in the capital Tbilisi.

The new 478 cases were recorded in:
- Adjara region - 196 cases
- Tbilisi - 178 cases
- Imereti - 65 cases
- Guria - 1 case
- Mtskheta - Mtianeti - 4 cases
- Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 13 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 15 cases
- Shida Kartli - 6 cases
179 of 183 kindergartens in Tbilisi which have been closed due to the coronavirus since March 2020 have reopened earlier today.
The personnel in the remaining four kindergartens or their relatives have tested positive for the coronavirus that is why the kindergartens remain closed.

Georgia has had 12,272 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Since then 6,538 patients have recovered, while 91 others have died.
As of today 5,643 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
50 of the 5,643 patients are in critical condition (eight of the 50 have been transported from the country’s Russian-occupied region).
Marina Endeladze, head of the isolation department of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases, stated today that out of the 523 new cases of coronavirus confirmed over the last 24 hours, 194 cases were reported in Tbilisi. She also added that ‘fortunately’ the number of new cases is decreasing in Adjara region.
Tbilisi Central Station shopping centre has closed to be sanitised as there were coronavirus cases reported at the gold market located in the shopping centre.
Georgia has reported 527 new cases of coronavirus earlier today, 313 recoveries and six deaths in the past 24 hours. The majority of the cases were recorded in the Adjara region of Georgia and in the capital Tbilisi. Georgia has had 10,752 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.5,866 of the 10,752 patients have recovered, while 72 others have died. As of today 4,814 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.66 of the 4,814 patients are in critical condition.
Germany has declared Georgia, Jordan, Romania and Tunisia as coronavirus risk regions, meaning that the individuals entering from these countries will have to enter quarantine pending a negative coronavirus test, Reuters reports.
Ambulance personnel will undergo mandatory PCR testing for COVID-19 every 72 hours, as they have the closest contact with COVID-19 patients.
Georgia will receive between 600 - 700,000 COVID-19 vaccines as soon as an effective one becomes available.

More than 50 of the 5,872 patients are in critical condition.
The Georgian Ministry of Health held a meeting earlier today to review the current epidemiological situation in the country.
Georgia has reported a record-high 680 new cases of coronavirus earlier today, with Tbilisi on the top of the list with 297 new infections. This is the first time over the past several weeks that Tbilisi has outnumbered the number of cases recorded in the country’s coastal region of Adjara.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze says that coronavirus is expected to claim the lives of an additional one million people worldwide before spring.
