A 25th patient has died of coronavirus in Georgia earlier today which is the second death in the past 24 hours.
The 76-year-old male patient from Batumi suffered from several underlying illnesses and he was tested for coronavirus yesterday, short before his death.
Between September 20 and 23, six Covid-19 patients have died in the country, two of them were transported from the country’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region in critical condition.

Most of the patients who have died of the coronavirus in Georgia were elderly individuals with underlying illnesses, or younger individuals with cancer.
Georgia reported 227 new cases of coronavirus earlier today.

The statistics were made public before the announcement of the death of the 25th patient.
The country has had 4,140 cases of the coronavirus since the end of February 2020.
1,649 of the 4,140 patients have recovered, while 25 others have died.
As of today 2,440 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.
More than 5,200 individuals are under quarantine around the country.
