Three employees of Zugdidi City Hall test positive for Covid-19

Three employees of the Zugdidi City Hall have tested positive for Covid-19, says Mayor of Zugdidi Municipality Giorgi Shengelia.

All employees of Zugdidi City Hall are being tested for the virus, and the building sanitised. 

Shengelia said that most of the employees (70 per cent) have been working remotely so far and only 30 per cent of employees were working in the building. 

Georgia has reported 227 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, which is a new record in the number since the country confirmed its first case of the virus on February 26, 2020. 

The new 227 cases were reported in: 

  • Adjara region of western Georgia - 165 cases
  • Tbilisi - 34 cases
  • Rustavi 4 cases 
  • Imereti - 14 cases (12 in Kutaisi 2 in Terjola municipality) 
  • Guria - 4 cases (1 in Lanchkhuti, 3 in Ozurgeti) 
  • Dusheti - 1 case 
  • Zugdidi - 2 cases 

The country has had 4,140 cases of the coronavirus since the end of February 2020.

1,649 of the 4,140 patients have recovered, while 25 others have died. 

As of today 2,440 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 

More than 5,200 individuals are under quarantine around the country.
