Georgia’s winter destination Gudauri is hosting the International Ski Federation’s Snowboard Cross Europa Cup this weekend.
Held between March 8-10, the competition in Gudauri has received the first riders flocking to the slopes of the spot from across Europe and revealed the first winners on Friday.

Holding of the event in Georgia was seen as a major step in the early stages of the country’s preparations to host the 2023 championships and its aspirations to launch a bid for the Winter Olympic Games in 2030.
Next weekend, ski cross masters will arrive in Gudauri for their turn to entertain the crowds and aim for top spots between March 15-17 for the Ski Cross Freestyle competition.
