Georgia will have a new sports complex which will host 15,000 people for the European Championship in basketball in 2021, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has stated.
He also said that Georgia officially applied yesterday to host the Youth Winter Olympics in 2025.
We will host the European Championship in Basketball and it is not only a huge victory for Georgian sports, but a tremendous success for our country" Bakhtadze said.

He said that the competition among 13 countries was tough and the final choice was made on Germany, Czech Republic, Italy and Georgia.
Prague (Czech Republic), Tbilisi (Georgia), Milan (Italy) and Cologne (Germany) will host the first phase groups while the final round of the tournament will be held in the German capital city of Berlin.
EuroBasket 2021 will be held on August 17-29, 2021.
