The 2018-2019 winter season, which lasted 128 days, is over in Georgia and the country’s most popular winter resorts hosted an increased number of tourists.
The number of visitors in Georgia’s four winter resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi and Svaneti increased by 578 per cent in 2018-2019 season compared to 2011-2012 and by 15 per cent compared to 2017-2018.

Here is how the number of visitors increased in 2018-2019 compared to the previous winter season in each winter resort of Georgia:
- Goderdzi – 43%
- Tetnuldi – 17%
- Hatsvali – 13%
- Gudauri – 19%
- Bakuriani – 20%
Mountain Resorts of Georgia said that Goderdzi hosted 14,758 visitors, while Tetnuldi and Hatsvali in Svaneti region hosted 41,499 visitors in 2018-2019.
The snow season is gradually opening in all winter resorts of Georgia. Winter enthusiasts across Georgia and from foreign countries are already able to hit the slopes of Gudauri, Svaneti and Goderdzi, where the snow season opens today.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has met with members of a coordination group to discuss the problem of water supply at the Georgian ski resorts of Bakuriani and Gudauri. At the meeting, they discussed the causes of the interrupted water supply and ways of solving the problem.They noted that water is not supplied to the Redco complex in Gudauri, nor to 10 per cent of the Bakuriani area.
