2018-2019 winter season: four Georgian resorts hosted 15% more visitors

The 2018-2019 winter season, which lasted 128 days, is over in Georgia and the country’s most popular winter resorts hosted an increased number of tourists.

The number of visitors in Georgia’s four winter resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi and Svaneti increased by 578 per cent in 2018-2019 season compared to 2011-2012 and by 15 per cent compared to 2017-2018.

Here is how the number of visitors increased in 2018-2019 compared to the previous winter season in each winter resort of Georgia:

  • Goderdzi – 43%
  • Tetnuldi – 17%
  • Hatsvali – 13%
  • Gudauri – 19%
  • Bakuriani – 20%

Mountain Resorts of Georgia said that Goderdzi hosted 14,758 visitors, while Tetnuldi and Hatsvali in Svaneti region hosted 41,499 visitors in 2018-2019.
