Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has met with members of a coordination group to discuss the problem of water supply at the Georgian ski resorts of Bakuriani and Gudauri.

At the meeting, they discussed the causes of the interrupted water supply and ways of solving the problem.

They noted that water is not supplied to the Redco complex in Gudauri, nor to 10 per cent of the Bakuriani area.

Construction is already underway and will continue around the clock until the problem is fixed.

The water shortage was due to the dry climate, which depleted water sources. Dry weather was also the reason that the artificial snow system was not turned on at the resorts.

The coordination group says that as a result of the action plan developed by the Georgian government to improve tourism services in Georgian ski resorts, traffic problems have decreased, road infrastructure has been developed, and additional parking lots have been built at Georgian ski resorts.

The members of the coordination group will leave for the ski resorts after the meeting in order to coordinate and solve the problems in Georgian ski resorts.
