Georgia has been ranked the third safest country in the world by global database Numbeo.
Numbeo.com, the world’s largest database of user contributed data, surveyed 118 countries, and ranked South Korea, Singapore and Georgia as the top three safest nations.
The research website ranked Georgia third safest on its mid-year 2016 global crime index. The index takes into account change of crime level in the past three years, how safe it is to walk during daylight and night hours and other factors.
Countries ranked the least safe (named at the top of the list) were Venezuela, Papua New Guinea and Honduras.
Numbeo.com gathered statistics from a range of sources such as governmental institutions, newspaper articles, websites of supermarkets and taxi companies and other surveys, to generate its results.
On the Numbeo.com webpage about crime in Georgia, examples of crime were listed and 90 contributors ranked their impressions, which gave Georgia its overall score.

In the past 12 months Georgia’s ranking has improved on the Numbeo.com list, meaning the country is now safer than before. Last year Georgia was ranked the sixth safest country in the world.
