Major players in India’s Bollywood film industry are coming to Georgia this weekend to learn more about the country’s unique filming environment.

The Bollywood producers will stay in Georgia for one week and while here they will visit different parts of the country to discover the best places to film future movies.

The Indian guests will first explore Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, the country’s third largest city Kutaisi, as well as Tskaltubo and Martvili in western Georgia. The group will then visit Anaklia and Batumi on the Black Sea coastline and Kazbegi – a high mountainous town in north-eastern Georgia.

The film experts are coming to Georgia to utilise the benefits offered by the state program ‘Film in Georgia’, which was a Government initiative to stimulate the local film sector by offering favourable conditions for local and international film makers.

Meanwhile while in Georgia the Bollywood producers will also meet Georgian film producers to get a better understanding of the country’s filming potential.

Two Indian movies have already been filmed in Georgia, which involved about 500 local and foreign actors. During filming more than 4 million GEL (about $1.70 million/€1.53 million*) was injected into Georgian economy.
