‘Girls on the Sun’-Film in Georgia announces new Georgian-French movie

One more movie, co-produced by Georgia and France will be filmed in Georgia within the Film in Georgia program, Georgia’s Ministry of Economy has announced.

The title of the new movie is the Girls on the Sun and the Georgian producer company 20 Steps Productions is working on it.

The story develops in Kurdistan and reveals the lives of two different women.

One of the main heroines of the movie, Bahar, is the head of the women battalion Girls on the Sun, while a French journalist Matilda covers ongoing issues.

The Georgian Ministry says filming will start at the end of the month and will continue for six months, employing more than 840 people.

Adjacent areas of Akhaltsikhe and Rustavi  in Georgia were selected for filming.

Six new movies have already been filmed within the Film in Georgia program and two others are coming soon.
