The Election Commission of Georgia's western Autonomous Republic of Adjara has released the final results of Elections 2016.

On October 8, in parallel to Georgia’s Parliamentary Elections, people in Adjara region voted to elect lawmakers in the 21-member Supreme Council.

According to the final results, 163 419 people voted in the elections in Adjara. Of these, slightly more than 12,500 election ballots were nullified which was four percent of all votes.

Below are the final results of Adjara elections through party lists:

The remaining 6 seats in Supreme Council will be filled by members elected through the majoritarian election system. A candidate must gain at least 50 percent of all votes in their respective district to be able to enter the Council. No candidate managed to overcome this threshold in Adjara which means a second round of vote will be needed in all six election districts of the region.

Meanwhile of these six, five districts will also hold the second round for Georgia’s Parliamentary Elections.

The second round of both national and regional elections will be held on October 30.
