Up to 5,000 Georgian citizens living abroad have voted in the October 8 Parliamentary Elections.
Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) summed up the final results of the elections conducted at out-of-country polling stations yesterday.
The agency said 4,816 voters living abroad participated in the election.
Here is how their votes were distributed among parties:
None of other parties received more than 30 votes each.
Georgia opened 57 voting stations in 40 countries to allow Georgian emigrants to have their say in the elections. Two polling stations also opened in Afghanistan for Georgian peacekeepers.
On October 8 Georgian diaspora were only eligible to vote for parties and not majoritarian candidates.
Meanwhile October 27 is the latest date when CEC must announce the final results countrywide.
