The head of the Georgian Government noted the country’s support for Greece “in this time of grief”.
The head-on collision of a passenger train carrying more than 350 people with a freight train also left dozens injured, with 66 people being treated for their injuries in a local hospital, the Greek Fire Service said.
Many of the 350 passengers onboard the passenger train were students in their 20s who were returning to Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece, after a long weekend celebrating the Greek Orthodox Lent, Reuters said.
