Georgian fencer Sandro Bazadze claimed a silver medal at the 2023 Men’s Sabre World Cup in Poland’s capital city of Warsaw, the Fencing Federation of Georgia said on Saturday.
Bazadze lost the final to Poland’s Krzysztof Kaczkowski with a score of 13-15, after defeating Italy’s Luigi Samele 15-12 in the semifinals.
Georgian fencer has competed in the finals of all four prestigious tournaments in the current 2022-2023 season, becoming a champion of the Algerian World Cup and Tunis Grand Prix and winning silver at Orleans Grand Prix and Warsaw World Cup.
The 29-year-old fencer has a “unique achievement”, as he has been ranked in the top three at his seventh consecutive tournament.
