The Georgian fencer Sandro Bazadze claimed a silver medal at the Sabre Grand Prix 2023 in South Korea’s capital Seoul, the Fencing Federation of Georgia said on Saturday.
Bazadze, the number one fencer in the International Fencing Federation ranking, lost the final tense match against the World Champion, South Korean Oh Sang-uk with a score of 14:15.
The Georgian athlete defeated South Korean Kim Jun-ho in the quarter-final by 15:14, as well as his Italian rival Matteo Neri in the semi-final with the same score.
