Georgian sabre fencer Sandro Bazadze became the winner of the Fencing World Cup 2022 on Saturday in Algeria.
At present, two-time World Cup winner, Bazadze, defeated his Italian counterpart Luigi Samele with a score of 15-13 in the final, before which the Georgian fencer claimed his win in a tense match against Egyptian Ziad Elsissy, defeating him 15-13.

Bazadze’s way to the final included a win over Egyptian Mazen Elaraby, Italian Michele Gallo and Jean-Philippe Patrice, as well as Bongil Gu, the South Korean fencer who was defeated by the Georgian fencer in the quarter-finals with a score of 15-3.
The 29-year-old fencer, a winner of this year’s European Fencing Championships along with other honours, is second in the International Fencing Federation ranking.
