The port city of Poti on western Georgia’s Black Sea coast has seen updates to its public infrastructure as part of an ongoing state programme that has been running since 2021, the Government Administration announced on Thursday.
Renovation of the city’s David Aghmashenebeli Street, select public squares and 25 buildings was completed under the Renewed Regions programme.

The Administration also said the programme was in an “active phase” in “almost all regions” of the country.

The infrastructural initiative covers 63 municipalities of Georgia with an approximate budget of ₾500 million (about $188mln) in its first stage.

Urban locations renovated under the projects will create new opportunities for local residents, the Administration also said.
