Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday said his Government had a "very good initiative" involving "large urban renewal” this year in 10 cities and 10 regions of the country.
The Government Administration cited the PM as saying the project involved a “complete rehabilitation” of cities including the resorts of Borjomi, Bakuriani, Tskaltubo and Mestia.
He said his team had "selected the most popular places for tourists” for the renewal, also naming Kazbegi in the north, and Kutaisi and Batumi in the west.
Details for the state programme will be presented "very soon", he added, noting the project was serving to maintain the "positive dynamics" in the country.
"We must maintain this pace and accelerate all ongoing projects, and we expect that this year will be a very successful year as well", he added.
