The City Hall of the western Georgian city of Kutaisi on Wednesday said it had placed QR codes on cultural heritage monuments in the city to help locals and visitors learn about the history of the sites.
Added to 46 public buildings, residential houses and bridges in the historical hub city, the codes deliver on-demand information to smartphone users on architecture and backstory of the monuments.

Archival photographic and audio material in Georgian and English is delivered to devices after scanning the codes, in the initiative that comes as part of a project on raising awareness on their role.
