The University officials highlighted the US support, within the framework of which a new paediatric oncology department will be opened at the hospital, where children suffering from cancer will be able to receive treatment in accordance with modern standards.
The Jo Ann University Hospital was founded by American philanthropist Jo Ann McGowan together with Georgian surgeons 25 years ago, whose efforts made it possible to ensure treatment for children with heart issues on the spot.
The hospital had operated under the name of the Medical Center until 2022, before its transfer to the ownership of European University.
