United States President Joe Biden on Thursday signed a $1.7 trillion Government funding bill for the fiscal year 2023, with the legislation including $132,025,000 in assistance for Georgia, the White House said.

In addition to the assistance package, the document points out none of the funds appropriated by the Act may be used for the benefit of Governments that have recognised the independence of, or established diplomatic relations with the Russian-occupied Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

The package also includes roughly $45 billion in emergency assistance to Ukraine until September of next year, to ensure support for the country in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
