US President Donald Trump has signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021 which includes $132,025,000 in financial aid for Georgia.

The bill was previously approved by the US Congress.

The document says that Georgia is a strategic ally of the United States, and the agreement continues to ‘support the Georgian people's efforts to strengthen democracy, governance and the rule of law.’

The document reads that not later than 90 days after enactment of the act, the secretary of state should submit a report to the Committees on Appropriations detailing actions taken by the government of Georgia since January 1, 2020 to strengthen democratic institutions, including through recent elections, combat corruption and ensure that rule of law in the private-sector and the foreign investment climate meet international standards.
